This cowl was designed for Laura Sutcliffe who keeps her Sheep high on the moors above Heptonstall. In summer, the curlews fly high in the pale blue sky, and the hedgerows are dotted with queen anne’s lace and buttercups. The cowl reflects the skies, the horizons, and the rhythmic lines of the stone walls that cross the land.

The cowl is knit in four colours of the lonk 4-ply yarn, dyed naturally with woad, and chamomile from the pennines, and indigo sourced sustainably from the Tarai cooperative in India.

Its an easy rhythmic knit in the round on a circular needle. The kit contains125g of 4-ply yarn in 25g mini skeins of Lonk 4 ply yarn in colours Over Clough (50g), Flaight Clough (25g), Moss Crop (25g) and Curlew skies (25g). It contains the pattern with full instructions.
