A colourful and striking beanie, warm and lightweight knit in the Wool Circle Lonk 4-ply yarn. A beanie designed for those outdoor days when its never just warm enough. Those cold days when the gritstone is sticky and the light is low.

The easy and rhythmic fair isle pattern is inspired by patterns of fractures in the walls of the quarries in Upper Calderdale. The gritstone is the elemental structure that shapes the land, and was used to build the houses and the walls which trace the landscape.The pattern was designed for the Lonk Yarn which comes from the Upper Calder.

The Kit contains 125g of our 4-ply Lonk yarn in Moss Crop (50g), Alder (25g), Gorple (25g) and Natural (25g). All dyed with foraged dye materials (Heather and Alder) gathered from the south pennines where the sheep live. The kit also contains the pattern with full instructions to knit the hat. The hat will fit a medium size head 54 cm diameter finished brim and 18cm tall. There is enough yarn to knit the hat a bit taller, or upsize the needles to make it a bit wider.
