We have started posting out rewards!
And we're off!
It feels great to be able to say that we have now started to post out the first few levels of rewards - anything that doesn't involve yarn! So that's the Greetings Cards, Totes & Tea Towels. If this is what you have been waiting for please make sure you have completed the survey we sent last week with your address details - until you have done that we can't send yours out.
If you have completed the survey with your address, then as soon as your package is on the way we will update your status on our kickstarter page to "shipped" and you won't have very much longer to wait. (I assume you will get a notification when this happens but this is our first time!)

You should already be feeling mighty pleased with yourself for helping us in our ambitions to create a fully traceable sustainable yarn that is good for the environment, British farmers and all knitters. But did you know that you are also helping to sustain another vital village resource right here in Heptonstall?
Our lovely Post Master, Tony, is due to retire at the end of this year (after more than 20 years at the helm!) and it threw the future of our village Post Office into serious jeopardy. Not only is it an important resource for many of the small businesses that operate in the village and beyond (including Whitehall Studio!!), but during Covid it became apparent just how much of a vital lifeline and support it was for so many of the residents.
The community has rallied together and is in the process of purchasing the PO through a Community Buyout so that from next year it will be community owned and run. If you want to read all about it just click on the link below.

We will be posting every one of your packages through the village Post Office to make sure we add to their coffers. And we are also making a commitment that all future shipping will be from here as well. We know that we could reduce our postage costs if we shopped around and bulk ordered with one of the Big Boy delivery companies. But this doesn't fit with our ethics and we want to make sure that as much money as possible from Project Lonk goes back into supporting vital community assets with long-term benefits. So thanks to your generous support, because we exceeded our target by so much, we can absorb the additional postage costs and do a bit more good as well. Thank you!

And finally, if all this talk of tea towels and totes is making you wish you had ordered one as well, fear not! You won't miss out. As soon as our website launches (in the next couple of weeks) you will have the opportunity to add them from there and we can add them to your parcel when your yarn is ready.
